Type TC Tray Cable

Type TC Tray cable is manufactured in accordance with the latest requirements given in Underwriters Laboratories Inc., Standard for Tray Cables, UL 1277. It is intended for use in accordance with Article 340 of the National Electrical Code and is suitable for use in Class I and Class II, Division 2, Hazardous Locations.

Design Standards

Bare Conductors:
Solid and seven strand bare or tinned copper conductors #18 - 8 AWG (0.823 - 8.35 mm²). This cable is available in 2 to 50 multi conductors or 1 to 50 pairs or triads depending on gauge size. Other stranding is available upon request.
Insulated Conductors:
NEC Type XHHW-2 rated flame retardant cross-linked polyethylene (FR XLPE) is suitable for use in wet or dry locations at operating temperatures of up to 90°C (194°F). VW-1 rated conductors are available upon request.
NEC Types THHN and THWN PVC insulated and Nylon jacketed are suitable for dry locations at operating temperatures of up to 90°C (194°F) and in wet locations at operating temperatures of up to 75°C (167°F) in accordance with UL standards 62 and 83.
Insulation Colour Code:
Singles: black and number coded
Pairs: black and white, and number coded
Triads: black, white and red, and number coded
Other colour codes are available upon request.
Grounding Conductor (Optional):
Bare copper or insulated grounding conductors sized per UL 1277 for use in multi conductor cables.
Fillers:
Non-hygroscopic filler materials are used where necessary to ensure cable roundness.
Shielding Options:
The cable is available with unshielded, overall shielded or individual and overall shielded pairs and triads. The shielding material consists of 100% coverage aluminum/polyester tape with a tinned copper drain wire.
Rip Cord:
A Nylon rip cord is applied under the jacket to facilitate easy removal.

Black 90°C (194°F) flame retardant, sunlight resistant thermoplastic chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) rated Oil Res I and Oil Res II.
Black 90°C (194°F) flame retardant, sunlight resistant thermoset chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE) commonly referred to as Hypalon® rated Oil Res I and Oil Res II.
